Serum zinc and copper levels were estimated in 91 psoriasis patients a
nd 107 healthy controls. The serum zinc levels were significantly low
(p < 0.001) in psoriasis patients (97.23 +/- 12.52 mug/dl) as compared
to normal subjects (110.98 +/- 16.54).. The serum copper in the contr
ol group was 112.57 +/- 30.55 mug/dl, while in patients with psoriasis
it was 128.56 +/- 31.87 mug/dl. It was significantly higher in psoria
sis (p < 0.001) when compared to controls.
