Abstract
Serum zinc and copper levels were estimated in 91 psoriasis patients a nd 107 healthy controls. The serum zinc levels were significantly low (p < 0.001) in psoriasis patients (97.23 +/- 12.52 mug/dl) as compared to normal subjects (110.98 +/- 16.54).. The serum copper in the contr ol group was 112.57 +/- 30.55 mug/dl, while in patients with psoriasis it was 128.56 +/- 31.87 mug/dl. It was significantly higher in psoria sis (p < 0.001) when compared to controls.
