Abstract
A method is described of increasing the resolution in far-field fluore scence light microscopy by a factor of 2. Calculations show that a lat eral resolution of 75 nm is achieved with a lens of numerical aperture of 1.4 (oil immersion) by a two-photon excitation mode with each phot on stemming from displaced focused light beams of lambda=500 nm and ov erlapping main maxima.
