Abstract
Two novel systems to synthesize three-phase sine waves with a combinat
ion of two units, using multiple phase-shifted single-phase resonant i
nverters are proposed. The first system has the advantages of both a h
igh-frequency resonant inverter and a high-frequency ac link. The seco
nd system has the advantage of a high-frequency resonant inverter. The
structure and operating principles of both proposed systems are descr
ibed and their features are compared with a conventional 12-step inver
ter. The simulated and experimental results show that the proposed sys
tems have excellent characteristics and give high-quality output wavef
orms.
