E. Favre et al., PERMANENT-MAGNET SYNCHRONOUS MOTORS - A COMPREHENSIVE APPROACH TO COGGING TORQUE SUPPRESSION, IEEE transactions on industry applications, 29(6), 1993, pp. 1141-1149
Torque ripple minimization in permanent-magnet synchronous motors is t
raditionally achieved either by special motor design or by an adequate
control of the driver. Due to motor-driver interactions, the choice o
f driver or motor design must consider the respective performance of e
ach. The presented approach provides appropriate current shapes to dri
ve a given motor without torque ripple and/or appropriate back EMF sha
pes for a given current or voltage supply. Reluctant torque, due to th
e interaction between the rotor magnets and the stator slots, is also
taken into consideration.
