L. Meric et al., FE CALCULATIONS OF COPPER BICRYSTAL SPECIMENS SUBMITTED TO TENSION COMPRESSION TESTS, Acta metallurgica et materialia, 42(3), 1994, pp. 921-935
Tension-compression tests are performed on copper bicrystalline specim
ens, with a grain boundary parallel to the tension axis. The character
isation of the slip system is made from microscopical observations at
the surface of the specimens. A crystalline viscoplasticity model is i
dentified on the single crystal tests. The model is then used in a Fin
ite Element code to predict the behaviour of the bicrystals. The numer
ical simulation is in good agreement with the experimental global forc
e-displacement curve, and provides also a good description of the loca
l slip activity.
