Abstract
We report for the first time the detection of glycolipids in a lichen. Three glycolipids were extracted from Ramalina celastri and their car bohydrates were determined. The main component was O-alpha-D-galactopy ranosyl-(1 -> 6)-O-beta-D-galactopyranosyl-(1 -> 1)-D-glyceritol, este rified with long-chain fatty acids, some of which were unsaturated.
