Recently, the Coverplate immunostaining method was introduced. This sy
stem allows easy handling of the slides and is suitable for immunoincu
bations for a variety of antigens at the same time on consecutive sect
ions, without having to apply droplets of the individual primary antib
odies on the sections. In this study, temperature rise inside the Cove
rplate units during microwave exposure is investigated. The most suita
ble conditions for microwave immunoincubations are determined. Immunoi
ncubations with the Coverplate unit are conducted in the microwave ove
n and the results evaluated.
