Abstract
Magnetization measurements were performed on polycrystalline La1.85Sr0 .15CuO4 irradiated by Ar-40 ions with high energy of 13 GeV and 26 GeV up to 3.0 x 10(11) ions/cm(2). An enhancement of magnetic irreversibi lity was observed. However the critical current density J(c) did hardl y change after irradiation, suggesting a little effect on the magnetic flux-line pinning, On the other hand, a large increase in the lattice parameter c was found in the Ar ion irradiation at the energy as high as 13 and 26 GeV in comparison with that in the low-energy irradiatio n.
