Abstract
The title compounds 4 and 5 have been synthesized from 3,4-tetramethyl ene furan (1) and maleic anhydride. The Diels-Alder adduct 2 is conver ted to 4 and 5 by subsequent reactions with sodium borohydride, ozone and methane sulfonic acid.
