Abstract
The relations between attitude toward the act and subjective norm to b ehavioral intentions were examined from an individual difference persp ective. High- and low-self-monitoring American undergraduates indicate d how likely they would be to write a letter about pending drinking-ag e legislation, what their attitudes were toward this behavior, and the ir subjective norm with respect to this behavior. As expected, the let ter-writing intentions of low self-monitors were related to their atti tude toward the act. The intentions of high self-monitors were related to perceived normative pressure and attitude toward the act.
