Abstract
This article examines characteristics, definition of brain injury and vocational rehabilitation services traditionally provided to individua ls who have sustained a brain injury. Current trends and developments in the provision of community based employment services for individual s with brain injuries are reviewed, including supported employment and natural co-worker support strategies. These community based strategie s are applied for the enhancement of vocational outcomes. A case study demonstrating the development and implementation of a training consul tant option for maximizing the optimal level of work performance for a n individual who has sustained a brain injury is presented.
