Abstract
A case of catheter-related septicemia, due to Coryneform CDC group A-5 , in an 11 yr old boy with acute myelomonocytic leukemia is discussed. The child failed to respond to initial antibiotic therapy, even follo wing the addition of vancomycin. Laboratory studies later showed the o rganism to be vancomycin resistant but cefotaxime susceptible.
