Abstract
We have studied the propagation behavior of optical solitons in a dist ributed gain medium with finite bandwidth medium, such as in Erbium-Do ped Fiber Amplifiers (EDFAs) which are widely used as fiber amplifiers . Our analysis is based on the Fourier Series Analysis Technique (FSAT ) which is a novel method recently proposed by the second and third au thors to solve the nonlinear Schrodinger equation; and our results are in complete agreement with those produced by other methods.
