Five separate monoclonal antibodies were produced against whole cell e
xtracts of Aspergillus flavus and ELISA procedures used to characteris
e the reactivity of the antibodies to Various fungal extracts. All fiv
e antibodies were specific to the aflatoxin producing fungi, A. flavus
and A. parasiticus, and indicated no cross reactivity with other Aspe
rgillus species, genera of several fungi or with other components whic
h may be found in food samples where A. flavus may be found.
