Abstract
Measurement distance requirements for electrically large, broad beam a ntennas are investigated in this paper. Design guidelines are develope d for determining far-field measurement distances for various pattern types. Results show that while the popular 2D2/lambda measurement dist ance usually ensures accurate measurements of broad beam antenna patte rns, measurement distances less than 2D2/lambda can provide acceptable results.
