R. Ilia et al., LEFT-VENTRICULAR PERFORMANCE IN PATIENTS WITH NORMAL CORONARY-ARTERIES - HEMODYNAMIC CHARACTERISTICS AND CLINICAL FOLLOW-UP, International journal of cardiology, 43(1), 1994, pp. 94-96
Of 111 patients with normal coronary angiograms, 68 patients had eleva
ted left-ventricular end diastolic pressure and 'low-normal' ejection
fraction (Group I) while the other 43 patients had normal left ventric
ular end diastolic pressure and 'high normal' ejection fractions (Grou
p II). Although the number of patients was too small for meaningful st
atistical analysis, systematically a higher percentage of patients wit
h diabetes mellitus, hypertension, hypercholesterolemia and smoking hi
story was found in Group I. In contrast to the patients in Group II, p
atients in Group I tended to have more angina and ischemic events.
