Abstract
In this paper we present the results of single crystal x-ray diffracti on experiments and molecular dynamics simulations on C-60-n-pentane. T his material is a typical C-60-clathrate and shows orthorhombic symmet ry at room temperature. We conclude that the orthorhombic symmetry can only be explained by the dynamics of both C-60 and n-pentane molecule s.
