This paper considers the potential for enhancing the fishery resources
in Lake Tai, and analyses the dominant factors. The analysis includes
not only the factors defined by traditional economics but also enviro
nmental (biological and non-biological) factors and socio-economic fac
tors in the light of systems economics. It uses the analytical method
of 'grey correlativity', which is briefly described. We have identifie
d the key factors which will affect the enhancement of the fishery res
ources and have proposed a manipulation method, which can control thes
e factors. This will provide a scientific basis to policy-makers for r
ational development of the fishery resources in Lake Tai.
