Abstract
A mobile three-dimensional scanning MIE LIDAR system, suitable to perf orm daytime/night-time measurements of aerosol parameters (backscatter ratio, extinction coefficient profile) in the Planetary Boundary Laye r (PBL) is described. The retrieving algorithm used will be able to re trieve aerosols' extinction and backscattering profiles up to 4-6 km, in moderately polluted areas is investigated and discussed.
