Dn. Asimakopoulos et al., CLIMATOLOGICAL EVALUATION OF SODAR RECORDINGS OVER COMPLEX TERRAIN, International journal of remote sensing, 15(2), 1994, pp. 383-392
In this study, an analysis of the thermal structure of the lower atmos
phere, using a conventional Acoustic Sounder is attempted. This analys
is is applied on acoustic sounder records taken over three topographic
ally different locations for a period of one year each. The frequency
distribution of sodar derived categories for thermal structure are exa
mined and discussed. The detected differences are related with the mic
roclimatic conditions for each site. These results, supplement previou
sly published work and indicate the usefulness of Acoustic Sounder rec
ords in meteorological and air pollution studies.
