Abstract
This note argues that the non-observation of the decay Z --> pi0gamma does not really reflect the failure of the PCAC technique which has re cently been extended to this decay by Jacob and Wu. It also explains i n a model-independent way why the PCAC method turns out to be successf ul in the decay pi0 --> 2gamma, whereas the same method apparently fai ls in the decay Z --> pi0gamma.
