Abstract
An 18-month-old Holstein bull with a history of producing ejaculates o f freezable quality was presented with marked oligozoospermia, teratoz oospermia and akinozoospermia. Ejaculates also contained many spheroid s and medusa forms. The severe dysspermatogenesis was associated with Haemophilus somnus infection based upon positive semen cultures and se rology. The bull was treated systemically with the antibiotic, ceftiof ur, for 15 days. Approximately 3 months after initial presentation, th e bull was again producing semen of freezable quality. The case presen ted provides one example in which severe dysspermatogenesis resolved t o the point of apparently normal spermatogenesis.
