SANS was used to investigate the growth of He-bubbles in a martensitic
steel developed for fusion reactors (''MANET''). The investigated sam
ple were simultaneously irradiated at high temperature with high-energ
y protons and alpha particles and then submitted to fatigue. Differenc
es in the SANS curves were observed between the irradiated and non irr
adiated samples; they were attributed to radiation induced inhomogenei
ties and in particular to helium bubbles
