Abstract
The amorphous platinum greens, which were synthesized from Pt(NH3)2(H2 O)2(NO3)2 or from Pt(NH3)2(H2O)2(SO4) and uridine, 5-bromouridine and ftorafur, were studied in the solid state by anomalous small angle x-r ay scattering. The intensity curves exhibit a power-law dependence, wh ich is likely to originate from large aggregates that are quite compac t yet have rough surfaces. The surface fractal dimension varied betwee n 2.2-2.7. The radius of gyration of the particles in the aqueous reac tion mixture before precipitation was only about 5 angstrom. Thus it w as concluded that the aggregates barely nucleate during the reaction a nd grow during the precipitation with acetone.
