Abstract
Alexandroside I, a new cycloartane triterpene glycoside was isolated f rom Astragalus alexandrinus. Its structure was established as 3-O-beta -D-glucopyranosyl-9 beta,19-cyclolanost-3 beta,6 alpha,16 beta,24(R),2 5 pentaol on the basis of spectroscopic and chemical methods. Four kno wn glycosides, astraversianins VI, X, XIV and XV, were also isolated.
