I. Chinou et al., CYTOTOXIC AND ANTIBACTERIAL LABDANE-TYPE DITERPENES FROM THE AERIAL PARTS OF CISTUS-INCANUS SUBSP CRETICUS, Planta medica, 60(1), 1994, pp. 34-36
Seven labdane-type diterpenoids were isolated from the leaves of Cistu
s incanus subsp. creticus; their structures were established by spectr
oscopic means. AU compounds were tested in vitro for their cytotoxicit
y against three cell line systems: KB, P-388; and NSCLC-NG. Their anti
bacterial and antifungal activities were tested against Staphylococcus
aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, Pseudomonas aeruginosae, Enteroba
cter cloacae, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumonia, Torulopsis glabr
ata, Saccharomyces cerevisiae, and Candida albicans as well.
