Abstract
In human fibroblast cultures TPA increased IL-6 and IL-8 production. T his was reduced by vitamin D-3 metabolites and analogs. The two analog s employed: 1,25 (OH)(2) -22 (E)-dehydro-24-monohomo vitamin D-3 (Comp ound A) and 1,25 (OH)(2) -22 (E)-dehydro-24 dihomo-vitamin D-3 (Compou nd B) may be useful in the therapy of pathologic proliferative disorde rs including psoriasis, particularly since they are less toxic and hav e less effect on calcium metabolism than vitamin D-3.
