Fluorine-containing poly(benzoxazinone-imide)s and poly(benzoxazinone-
phenylquinoxaline-imide-amide)s have been synthesized by solution poly
condensation of diacid dichlorides containing imide and hexafluoroisop
ropylidene groups with 4,4'-diaminodiphenylmethane-3,3'-dicarboxylic a
cid or with mixtures of the latter with a diamino phenylquinoxaline. T
hese polymers show high thermal stability, the decomposition temperatu
res being in the range of 450-470-degrees-C. Transparent flexible film
s were cast from the solutions of the corresponding polyamidic acid in
termediates that after thermal cyclization showed low dielectric const
ant which recommends them for future applications in microelectronics.
