We have investigated oscillations of magnetoresistance ratio and film
texture in Co/Cu-Ni and Ni-Fe/Cu-Ni multilayers. As the non-magnetic l
ayer thickness was changed, the magnetoresistance ratio oscillated in
both the Co/Cu-Ni and the Ni-Fe/Cu-Ni multilayers. The film texture al
so oscillated between (100) and (111), As the Ni concentration of the
Cu-Ni non-magnetic layers increased, the oscillation period of the mag
netoresistance ratio became longer in both the multilayers, The oscill
ation period of the texture also became longer. These results indicate
that the changes of the neck diameter of the Fermi surface of the Cu-
Ni layers vary the periods of the oscillations in both the magnetoresi
stance ratio and the texture.
