Abstract
The intercalation of metals and alloys in different second-stage donor graphite intercalation compounds (GICs) was investigated. The propose d schemes of the segregation reaction in the graphite-potassium-caesiu m-mercury system can explain why the quantity of donor-donor bi-interc alated GICs is essentially restricted in contrast with acceptor-accept or bi-intercalated GICs.
