S. Fukada et al., MEASUREMENT OF EXOELECTRONS FROM PALLADIUM AND PALLADIUM DEUTERIDE WITH GAS PROPORTIONAL COUNTER, Journal of alloys and compounds, 204(1-2), 1994, pp. 223-229
Intensities of exoelectron emission from strained rods of pure palladi
um, Pd hydride and Pd deuteride were measured. The detector was an in-
line type of gas proportional counter which was specially designed for
the study. Emission rates for exoelectrons from strained hydride and
deuteride were partly higher than those from strained Pd. However, tho
se from a fractured Pd were much lower than those from strained Pd. Th
us, the enhancement of the emission rate was related to the desorption
of hydrogen or deuterium from Pd under a strain in the range of elast
ic deformation. There was no difference between the counting rates and
the energy spectra of exoelectrons emitted from the hydride and deute
ride. No trace of fracto-fusion was observed in this experiment.
