Abstract
It is well known that the prolonged use of excess alcohol causes a mul tiplicity of abnormal clinical, biochemical and electrophysiological c hanges that are associated with diseases of the liver, neuromuscular s ystem, heart and brain. It is less well appreciated that the long-term use of excess alcohol also affect bone and may play an important role in the causation of extensive bone loss, and osteoporosis.
