Crystals of psoriasin, a protein related to the skin disease psoriasis
, have been grown in two different crystal forms. Form I represents th
e protein in the Ca2+-bound form, and form II represents the protein i
n the Zn2+- and Ca2+-bound form. The crystals of form I are orthorhomb
ic belonging to the space group P2(1)2(1)2(1) with cell parameters a=5
2.15, b=56.67 and c=76.38 Angstrom and diffract to 2.4 Angstrom. The c
rystals of form II are tetragonal and belong to the space group P4(1(3
))2(1)2 with cell parameters a=b=51.86, c=115.93 Angstrom and diffract
to 2.0 Angstrom.
