Abstract
This article examines the way in which space education can be used as a tool for producing bright, motivated students with qualifications su ited to future labour markets. It discusses what space education shoul d involve, the results expected and the best ways of achieving this. O ne of these is for government, industry and education to form a cooper ative partnership. Six basic activities essential for the proper funct ioning of space education are advocated. The barriers to implementing it (eg lack of well-defined national space goals, legal and financial restrictions on some relevant technology, no existing integrated curri culum) are also enumerated.
