Abstract
Mean lifetimes of 19 states have been measured in Cd-108 using the rec oil-distance method and the NORDBALL multi-detector array in a coincid ence-plunger experiment. The reduced transition probabilities have bee n determined from the measured lifetimes using previously measured bra nching ratios, and the deformation parameter beta2 has been calculated for several bands. The experimental results have been compared to equ ilibrium deformations obtained by total routhian surface calculations.
