Abstract
We highlight the case of a 35-year-old male who suffered a respiratory arrest as a result of methaemoglobinaemia secondary to skin contamina tion and inhalation of petrol octane booster following a road traffic accident. It is important that petrol octane booster is stored safely in leak-proof containers and that suitable warnings are displayed to a lert the user of potential toxicity.
