Abstract
Specific Multiple Auxiliary Reagents Technique (SMART) is a novel proc edure for the simultaneous detection and measurement of pluralities of analytes by immunoassay methods. The procedure is based on the use of numbers of specific protein binding separation systems (auxiliary imm obilisation systems) which home the appropriate assay fractions relati ng to target analytes to pre-designated areas of sensor transducer sur faces. The procedure has a number of technically important advantages including the total independence of the preparation transducer element s of the target analytes. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science Limited.
