Abstract
In the HgF2-assisted addition of Cl-2 and Br-2 to C6F5CN the compounds C6F5CF=NX (3, 5: X = Cl, Br) and C(6)F(5)CF(2)NX(2) (2, 4: X = Cl, Br ) are formed. Photochemical decomposition of the dibromoamine (4) give s the diazene C6F5CF2-N=N-CF2C6F5 (6) in 31% yield. The structure of 6 has been determined by X-ray diffraction.
