FUNCTIONAL POLYSILOXANES .2. ON THE REACTION OF HYDROXYPROPYL-TERMINATED AND AMINOALKYL-TERMINATED POLYDIMETHYLSILOXANES WITH CYCLIC ANHYDRIDES

Carboxyester- and carboxyamido-terminated polydimethylsiloxanes were o btained through the reaction of cyclic anhydrides (succinic, maleic an d phthalic anhydride) with hydroxypropyl- and aminoalkyl-terminated po lydimethylsiloxanes, respectively. The reactivity of the starting comp ounds and the influence of the reaction conditions on the characterist ics of the final products are discussed.
