R. Benamouzig et al., GASTRODUODENAL LINITIS PLASTICA INFILTRATION DUE TO METASTATIC INVOLVEMENT FROM BLADDER-CANCER - ENDOSONOGRAPHIC FINDINGS CORRELATED WITH HISTOLOGY, European journal of gastroenterology & hepatology, 6(2), 1994, pp. 179-182
Background: Linitis plastica due to metastatic involvement of the stom
ach wall is rare and most commonly seen in patients with breast carcin
oma. Endosonography has been shown to be accurate in the diagnosis of
gastric linitis. Patient: A 61-year-old man who presented with haemorr
hagic cystitis. Results: Secondary linitis plastica due to bladder can
cer. Conclusion: In this patient, the endoscopic ultrasonography patte
rn met all the criteria for a primary gastric linitis plastica and, th
erefore, cannot be used to differentiate this condition from metastati
c disease.
