Abstract
The obtaining of hydrogen by photolysis of water was studied in a labo ratory reactor employing a photosystem consisting of chloroplasts, hyd rogenase and an electron mediator. To improve the biochemical stabilit y of chloroplasts ana hydrogenase they were entrapped in polyvinyl alc ohol films. The effect of immobilization upon hydrogen evolution was s tudied in various types of entrapment.
