SYNTHESIS AND APPLICATION OF SOME SULFONAMIDO ACID AZO DYES AND SULFONAMIDO DIRECT AZO DYES

The paper describes the synthesis of some acid azo dyes with sulfonami do groups in their diazotization component. They result as coupling pr oducts from the diazonium salts of 4-alkylamino-sulfonil-2,5-dimethoxy aniline and of 2-chlorine-5-metyl-4-phenylsulfonilamidonanile and the 1-amino-8-naphthol-3,6-disulfonic acid (acid H) and 2-amino-5-naphthol -7-sulfonic acid (acid J) in alkaline medium. By the coupling of diazo tized para-nitroaniline to acid H in acid medium, followed by the coup ling of the diazonium salts of 4-dimethylamino-sulfonil-2,5-dimethoxya niline and of 2-chlorine-5-methyl-4-phenysulfonilamidoaniline in alkal ine medium, direct dyes can be obtained. By the coupling of the diazon ium salts of mono azo dyes derived from acid J to acids J and R, other direct dyes can be produced. The visible spectrum, the remission and the colour coordinates in the ANLAB space as the dyeing fastness to co ld water, to washing at 40-degrees to alkaline perspiration, to light and to dry friction been determined for the synthesized dyestuffs.
