1,1'-Bi-2-naphthol was oxidized catalytically and enantioselectively (
less-than or-equal-to 15.2% e.e.), by using the chiral ruthenium compl
ex, DELTA-[Ru(menbpy)3]2+ (menbpy = 4,4'-dimenthoxycarbonyl-2,2'-bipyr
idine) as a photocatalyst and [Co(acac)3] (Hacac = pentane-2,4-dione)
as an oxidant under photoirradiation.
