Abstract
In the majority of cases, conventional techniques for the treatment of villous tumors of the rectum are, if they are to be effective, too ag gressive for this usually benign pathology. Our experience with the ou tpatient laser treatment of 31 patients leads us to conclude that this is a safe and effective technique, which should be attempted before a colectomy or abdominoperineal amputation is indicated.
