Ra. Johnston et V. Bruce, WHO PRIMED ROGER-RABBIT - AN INVESTIGATION OF PRIMING BETWEEN INDIVIDUAL ITEMS, British journal of psychology, 85, 1994, pp. 115-130
Three experiments are reported which examine priming effects operating
in the recognition of familiar objects and their names. The stimuli e
mployed allowed the direct comparison of these effects with results pr
eviously obtained from face recognition research by utilizing a subjec
t-response task common to both areas. Semantic (associative) priming w
as investigated in Expts 1 and 2 while identity (repetition) priming w
as examined in Expt 3. The three experiments supported the idea that p
arallels could be drawn between the recognition of objects and faces.
