S. Hashimura et al., QUANTITATIVE-EVALUATION OF TC-99M-GSA IN THE RAT-LIVER AFTER ISCHEMIA-REPERFUSION INJURY, Acta medica Okayama, 48(1), 1994, pp. 39-42
99(m)Tc-DTPA-galactosyl human serum albumin (Tc-GSA) is a new liver-im
aging agent which binds specifically to hepatic binding protein. The p
urpose of this study was to evaluate the usefulness of Tc-GSA in quant
itatively evaluating hepatic ischemia-reperfusion injury in the rat. R
egional hepatic ischemia was induced by clamping the left hepatic arte
ry and the left portal vein for 5 to 45 min. A hepatic accumulation in
dex (t(90)) was obtained on the basis of the dynamic data. A significa
nt difference of this index was observed between all ischemic groups a
nd the control. In conclusion, Tc-99m-GSA appears useful for evaluatin
g the hepatic ischemia-reperfusion injury.
