The radiative cooling of the gas behind a shock wave is considered. Th
e following processes are taken into account: bremsstrahlung, excitati
on of the iron ions, and the inverse Compton scattering of stellar emi
ssion on the hot electrons. The problem has been solved in the frame o
f the two-temperature model accounting for the nonstationary ionizatio
n processes. The typical parameters of close binary systems consisting
of WR- and OB-type strongly outflowing components were chosen as the
initial and boundary conditions. The results of the calculations showe
d that the cooling process has some properties within the velocity ran
g, in consideration. These properties allow the equation system to be
simplified essentially. All the results are supported by the physical
arguments based on simple estimates.
