Abstract
The influence of liquid environments of various polarity on the metast able states formed during dry grinding of quartz and magnesite have be en investigated. The X-ray amorphous phase content and the excess enth alpy accumulated during energy intensive dry grinding remain unaffecte d during short-termed dispergation regrinding as well as during long-t ermed stirring and static storage of the activated powders in liquid e nvironment. The changes in specific surface area depend upon: the perm itivity of liquid environment, crystallochemical properties of the act ivated powder and conditions of their mutual contact.
