N. Stevulova et K. Tkacova, CHANGES IN SURFACE OF DRY ACTIVATED QUARTZ AND MAGNESITE POWDERS DURING DYNAMIC AND STATIC CONTACTS WITH LIQUID ENVIRONMENTS OF VARIOUS POLARITY, Ceramics-Silikaty, 37(4), 1993, pp. 187-192
The influence of liquid environments of various polarity on the metast
able states formed during dry grinding of quartz and magnesite have be
en investigated. The X-ray amorphous phase content and the excess enth
alpy accumulated during energy intensive dry grinding remain unaffecte
d during short-termed dispergation regrinding as well as during long-t
ermed stirring and static storage of the activated powders in liquid e
nvironment. The changes in specific surface area depend upon: the perm
itivity of liquid environment, crystallochemical properties of the act
ivated powder and conditions of their mutual contact.
