Lc. Kenny et Dr. Bradley, OPTIMIZATION OF THE PERSPEC MULTIFRACTION AEROSOL SAMPLER TO NEW SAMPLING CONVENTIONS, The Annals of occupational hygiene, 38(1), 1994, pp. 23-35
An experimental evaluation of the PERSPEC multifraction aerosol sample
r was carried out. The pattern in which particles of different sizes d
eposit on the filter was determined using fluorescent monodisperse par
ticles, and compared with theoretical predictions. The experimental da
ta were used to devise a method for subdividing the filter into respir
able, thoracic and inhalable aerosol fractions. The bias in aerosol co
ncentrations assessed using this method was estimated for a range of s
ize distributions, and found to be generally very low.
