Abstract
The flash photolysis of the bis-mu-oxo-bis(L-cisteine)-oxomolybdenum(V ) [Mo2O4(cis)2] in aqueous solutions at 25-degrees-C in the pH range 0 .5-2.0 in nitrogen atmosphere has been studied. Under the present expe rimental conditions a redox process is observed leading to Mo(VI) and H-2 as final products. Time resolved espectral analysis shows the form ation of two intermediaes, one absorbing at 400 nm, identified as mu-o xo-bis(oxo-aquo molybenum(V)), and other one showing a peak at 415 nm. The nature of both intermediates is discussed.
